Ca Milieta owes its name to Emilia Ricou, founder with her husband of one of the most remarkable and popular family restaurants in the Pyrenees. Their fame is well deserved; after all, they have been more than thirty years in the stoves giving birth to their succulent dishes of the cooking in the ribagorçana tradition. The restaurant is currently run by Blanca (Milieta’s daughter) and Jordi, her husband. It is located on the road from Lleida to Vielha, in the section between Pont de Suert and Vilaller, only a few metres away from the administrative border with Aragón, from where Milieta originally comes.

The meals coming out of Ca Milieta’s kitchen can be described as "traditional mountain gastronomy ", or, to be more precise, food from Ribagorça. Milieta started serving lunches on the occasion at the beginning of the sixties in the guesthouse that was originally the location of the restaurant, then named Miravet. Blanca Iglesias and Jordi Barroso came along the family business in 1989 with a clear mission in mind: to change absolutely nothing of the spirit that has made Milieta's cooking so famous. In other words, they have changed the place, the name, but the food is still cooked with the traditional recipes with natural, seasonal and local ingredients.
